Mahali Mzuri – Family vacation in the Kenyan bush

Mahali Mzuri – Family vacation in the Kenyan bush ( It is well known that Sir Richard Branson has always had a personal love for Africa and has visited Kenya on multiple occasions; and it was this background that laid the foundations for Mahali Mzuri in 2007. Richard Branson was made a Maasai Elder, a traditional honor the tribe chose to bestow on him in return for bringing prosperity to the land. With only twelve tented suites, the Kenyan Safari Camp opened its doors in summer 2013 in the famous Olare Motorogi Conservancy within the Maasai Mara ecosystem. The name “Mahali Mzuri” means “beautiful place” in Swahili, a place, which impresses not only adults but also enchants every child’s heart. Available until 21st December 2015, excluding July and August, Mahali Mzuri offers the “Kids stay free” package, an exciting safari package with abundant wildlife where guests will enjoy all the creature comforts, fun activities, delicious meals and more. From guided game drives to relaxing by the outdoor infinity pool, there is always something for each family member to enjoy. Rates start from 1,208€ per family tent, per night and are based on two adults and one to two children sharing. The package includes all meals and drinks, daily game drives, tailor-made child-friendly menus, milk and cookies before bedtime, guided bush walks and visits to the local markets, children´s books, games and family activities as well as wireless internet and laundry service. Set in approximately 13,500 hectares, guests at Mahali Mzuri can experience guided game drives to spot animals such as wildebeest, elephants, zebras, lions, leopards and cheetahs in their natural habitat. The camp can plan full day excursions out in the conservancy and even drives at night. Walking safaris, where you can get up close and personal with the game, are only possible for children aged twelve years and older. The little guests can enjoy fun family activities, from educational board games and wildlife puzzles to “Bush Olympics”. Children can also get creative with arts and crafts or spend an afternoon drawing the wildlife they can see from the viewing decks. Views can also be admired from the outdoor infinity pool, where guests can sit back and enjoy great game viewing. At the end of the day, bush BBQs with a wide selection of African and international menus are served out in the bush and gourmet family feasts are served in the main dining tent. The resident chef will always be delighted to cook children-friendly menus.
