SpiceTree Resorts: Paving a New Way of Tourism in Kerala, Boutique and Responsible!

(Forimmediaterelease.net) Tourism in Kerala is in a constant path of growth. Right from the boom of hippie culture in the 70s in the beaches of Kerala to the branding of the state as ‘God’s Own Country’, many things have contributed to the growth of tourism in this beautiful Indian state. Kerala tourism is seeing new heights of innovation and quality of service in the hospitality industry of late. It is along with the advent of these trends that boutique tourism, where the tourist gets utmost personal comfort, was introduced in Kerala. One of the most prominent amongst boutique resorts in Kerala is SpiceTree, located at the serene hill station of Munnar. In fact, SpiceTree is unarguably the best boutique-living destination in Kerala.

Nestled amidst the vast, green mountains and hills of the mighty Western Ghats, SpiceTree amuses one with its eco-friendly ways and beautiful scenery around. From any living space in SpiceTree you get the amazing view of the nearby mountains, especially Chokkanmudi (one of the tallest peaks in the Western Ghats), and Bison Valley, a historically important and beautiful region.

SpiceTree was founded two years ago with the objectives of ‘responsible tourism’ and ‘boutique-living experience for guests’. It seems so that Team SpiceTree has achieved its objectives over the course of two years. Most of the visitors at SpiceTree are thoroughly impressed by the eco-conservation objectives taken up by the resort and are glad to give a helping hand to the team. The boutique level of comfort SpiceTree provides has also brought many tourists back for multiple visits to the resort.

“It’s hard to know where to begin describing Spice Tree – I’m not sure words can do justice to how amazing our stay was, and how grateful we are to the incredible staff there. All I can say is that I can’t recommend it strongly enough – book to stay here and you will not regret it! I’ve never experienced that feeling of luxury and care anywhere else in my life (and I’ve stayed at some lovely places around the world and nearer home in England),” says Lisa Robson in Tripadviosr, from United Kingdom

In order to accomplish the objective of ‘boutique living experience for guests’, SpiceTree has a team of around 50 people coming together to take care of its guests. The living spaces at SpiceTree can be categorized to three; Classic Suite Rooms, Spa Suites (14 Suites in total) and 2 private Pool Villas. The Pool Villas are the latest addition to SpiceTree (just a few months old now) but are now the crown jewels of the resort. SpiceTree also has an exclusive spa center called ‘The Bliss’ where one can practice yoga and meditation, along with receiving spa and massage sessions. The ‘Book Bar’ at SpiceTree gives you opportunities to indulge yourself in a variety of books which are available, or have fun playing some indoor games such as billiards, chess, caroms etc while enjoying the cool breeze from the mountains and valley ahead.

The Family Dining Hall at SpiceTree is not just a place to enjoy lip smacking food from various culinary styles and practices, but also a place to have fun with other visitors as well as the staff. The Chef might also be willing to share some secret recipes of local culinary delights if you are interested. Special Days such as celebratory days across the world calls for cultural activities, magic shows etc too.

One of the latest additions to the charm of SpiceTree is ‘300 BC’, - ‘a karma coffee shop’. It is a unique and innovative concept where the customer gets a zero bill for the food and beverages the person has. He or she is encouraged to leave good ‘karma’ (a contribution, so as to cover the bill of the next person to arrive at the place), or not pay at all. Leaving a good karma is considered nice as it brings in an invisible bond of love amongst two unknown people. The bakery also boasts of a country oven in which bread and pizzas are prepared the traditional style, which really enhances the taste of the food.

As mentioned earlier, the various eco-conservation activities at SpiceTree is garnering good attention in Kerala’s tourism circles and visiting tourists. When asked about the resort and its activities, Mr. Hybeen Thomas, the CEO of SpiceTree said, “Every human being should be aware of the fact that the whole world is a gift to us, mankind. It is our duty to not disturb the equilibrium that is set by nature around us, I feel so. Human needs are special and we are supported by nature in our ventures. But it should never mean that we have the right to destroy the balance of nature. SpiceTree aims to revive the notion of that serene balance and harmony between humans and nature in you.” We are all with you, Mr Hybeen!

Right from its inception, SpiceTree has been seeing steady bookings and reservations in its suites and villas regardless of whether it is on-season or off-season for tourism in Kerala. Repeat customers are also in a steady rise for team SpiceTree.

Over the last two years, SpiceTree has carved out a niche space for themselves in boutique tourism in Kerala. It has paved the way for a new kind of tourism, one which integrates ultimate customer satisfaction as well as ecological conservation and responsibility. Let the future years also be fruitful for them in their valuable objectives.
