In all our activities and actions we focus on environmental, economic and social sustainability. Our actions serve the goal to minimize our consumption figures in the most effective manner.”
As a Green Globe certified property efficient resource management is a main priority.
“The whole team is motivated to reduce our consumption of electricity, water and heating every day,” added Jennifer Lässer.
Mövenpick Hotel Frankfurt/Oberursel utilizes energy saving lamps in all areas of the hotel. In guest rooms circuit and air conditioning are only activated when released by room cards. And any new electrical appliances are purchased in accordance with energy saving criteria.
Water usage is regularly monitored and dual toilet flushing systems are installed. Also, to ensure the quality of black and grey water is non-polluting to the surrounding environment eco-friendly cleaning products are used.
To minimize waste, the hotel organizes the separation of garbage in all areas of the hotel that is collected by designated waste collection companies for recycling or disposal. In addition, the property consults with suppliers to reduce the amount of packaging materials currently used.
Green Meetings conducted by Mövenpick Hotel Frankfurt/Oberursel use resources sustainably and with care. The hotel has 12 modern and well-appointed meeting and conference rooms. All meeting rooms feature panoramic windows that provide natural daylight and participants receive environmental friendly stationery such as biodegradable pens. Catering for these functions include Bio juices and Fair Trade coffee plus seasonal and regional dishes. And in accordance with the hotel’s social and environmental responsibilities local and regional products are preferred in order to minimize transport emissions as well as to support the local economy.
To reduce the hotel’s carbon footprint, travel via German Rail (Deutsche Bahn) is encouraged and guests can choose to offset their trip with Atmosfair. Through Atmosfair travelers contribute a voluntary payment based on the amount of emissions generated by their travel and these contributions are then utilized to develop renewable energy systems primarily in developing countries.
