Local delegations set to add Creole touch to Seychelles carnival

Local delegations set to add Creole touch to Seychelles carnival ( In the lead up to Seychelles’ biggest event, the number of international delegations and press confirming their participation keeps increasing. Local floats also have an important role to play in adding a Creole touch to the Carnaval International de Victoria, ensuring that this event remains as spectacular, as vibrant, and as colorful as ever. And so far, 22 local floats have confirmed their participation for the carnival’s fifth edition.

Last year, Raffles dethroned JJ Spirit Foundation to take the first prize to Praslin, and the latter had to settle for second position. Indian Ocean Tuna Limited succeeded in taking the third prize.

Will Raffles be defending their title in 2015? Unlike the other two prize winners, Raffles is yet to confirm its participation. But there will still be a number of hotel representatives coming down for the parade on April 25 - Le Meridien Fisherman’s Cove, Hilton Seychelles, Constance Lemuria, and Ephelia Resorts.

The crowd can also expect loyal local delegations which have been participating since the carnival’s very beginning in 2011, such as University of Seychelles, Seychelles Public Transport Company, and Seychelles Tourism Academy.

New this year will be NYS Sesel and Hospitality Supplies Ltd.

With the carnival’s organization being thoroughly executed and less than 50 more days to go, rising excitement for Seychelles’ biggest event is almost flammable.
