El Salvador Participates in the 42nd Edition of the ITB Trade Show in Germany

El Salvador Participates in the 42nd Edition of the ITB Trade Show in Germany ( Minister of Tourism Ruben Rochi, who is also president pro tempore of the Central American Tourism Council, inaugurated Central America's stand at ITB, the world's most important tourism trade show, held in Berlin, Germany.
El Salvador's booth was located in one of the 26 pavilions featured in the ITB exhibition site. The site encompassed a total of 160,000 square meters and hosted more than 11,000 exhibitors from each of the five continents. “Our plans are to keep positioning El Salvador as a new destination and to keep up our efforts to get our country's name in the media, as well as provide commercial incentives to Salvadoran and international tour operators as we search for new and better air travel connections between El Salvador and Europe. In this respect, our country is beginning to make inroads in the German media and our presence at this trade show helps to improve our country's brand image," said Minister Rochi.
The Salvadoran Minister of Tourism forged closer ties in talks with Silvia Cairo Jordan, director of international sales for Spanish airline Iberia, and in a meeting with Inmanuell Zerger, general manager of Sontinametours, and the tourism ministers of other Central American nations, in which the CentroamericaOnline project was unveiled. The CentroamericaOnline website will serve as an online marketing tool for the small and medium-sized tourism companies in the region.
Minister Rochi was also interviewed by Liberty TV, a television channel specializing in reporting new tourist destinations, and by Shape/Joy, a European magazine with a subscription base of 25,000 that highlights ecotourism and adventure travel destinations.

In Central America, El Salvador enjoys the most modern road system and the best airport infrastructure, and has the second best telecommunications system, making it a modern, cutting-edge, dynamic nation. All these attributes, in combination with its natural beauty and its historical and cultural wealth, as well as its warm and thriving people, make El Salvador a truly admirable country.
