From Berlin to Paris – there is no let up to market Reunion Island

From Berlin to Paris – there is no let up to market Reunion Island ( ITB 2015 is getting underway today in Berlin, and Reunion Island’s team, led by Reunion Island Tourism (IRT), will no doubt make waves in their quest to attract ever more visitors to the island.

Yet, with one trade show opening, IRT already has its sights set on the Paris Golf Show, which takes place in the French capital from March 19-21.

The 2014 edition saw over 26,500 visitors jam the show to check out the latest equipment, but even more important, to learn about easy-to-reach destinations where golf can be played year round.

Reunion Island, a French region in the deep of the Indian Ocean, is a picture-perfect place to do that without ever having to leave France, or the European Union for that matter – many of the show visitors come from neighboring countries – as the summer weather on Reunion Island during the cold and wet European winters is as inviting as it comes.

Air Austral, the home airline of Reunion Island, as well as other airlines, fly several times a day between French destinations and Reunion Island’s Roland Garros International Airport in the capital St. Denis.

On Friday, March 20, the IRT will invite the specialized press for a media briefing followed by a cocktail, from 11:00 am onwards at the IRT stand. Media representatives and other guests will have the opportunity to learn about and ask questions about the next Reunion Island Open Golf Championship.

The 2015 edition of the Open de La Reunion will take place from November 27 to December 5, and details will appear soon on

Visitors to the Paris Golf Show can learn all there is to know about the three golf courses on the island: the Bassin Bleu Golf (18 holes) in Saint-Gilles the Tops, Colorado Golf (9 holes) at Mountain, and Golf Bourbon (18 holes) at Etang-Salé. Visitors will find the Reunion Island iron range 7 in Hall 5.2, stand B07.

Partnering at the show alongside the IRT will be the LUX Reunion Island and incoming agency, 21st Parallel.
