Cruise ship “The World” will have a Seychelles port call souvenir placed alongside that from others ports

Cruise ship “The World” will have a Seychelles port call souvenir placed alongside that from others ports ( “The World’s” captain, accompanied by the cruise ship's general manager and other senior officers, on Thursday welcomed Alain St.Ange, the Seychelles Minister responsible for Tourism and Culture, on “The World" cruise shop soon after it docked in Port Victoria in the Seychelles. Minister St.Ange was being accompanied on this courtesy call on “The World” by Andre Ciseau, the CEO of the Seychelles Port's Authority; Sherin Naiken, the CEO of the island's Tourism Board; Anne Lafortune, the PS for Tourism; and Benjamine Rose, the PS for Culture.

This courtesy call on the cruise ship “The World” by the Seychelles Tourism and Port Authorities is part of the drive by the country to showcase the personalized welcome to Seychelles and to show that the islands value the increasing port calls by cruise ships. “We are a tourism destination that works only when our entry points into the country is adequately serviced. This includes both our airport and our port. The time to take it for granted that ships or planes will just come is finished. We have to continuously sell ourselves as having an edge on the other ports. For the arrival of this cruise ship we were able, because we are all Seychellois promoting our country with our heart, to say welcome, as we delivered a framed picture of a Seychelles beach that was carrying a message that marked the arrival of the ship into Port Victoria and that was signed by our team from tourism and from port Victoria itself," said Minister St.Ange.

“The World,” which left Port Victoria on Friday to anchor between the islands of Praslin and La Digue before it moves on to the outer island of Assumption and finally makes a stop at the world wonder of Aldabra, has on board many a discerning traveler who can personally return to Seychelles themselves for a longer holiday, and they also have friends and relatives to whom they can recommend the Seychelles as their next holiday destination.
