Centara Hotels & Resorts celebrates its success in Vietnam with a third property

Centara Hotels & Resorts celebrates its success in Vietnam with a third property ( BANGKOK, Thailand - Centara Beach Resort&Spa Phu Quoc is the latest Vietnamese property acquired by Centara Hotels&Resorts after a management contract was signed with the owners, Binh Le Xuan Ltd. Companies and Commercial Services.

The four-star resort is Centara’s second property on the idyllic Phu Quoc Island, and is viewed as a desirable complement to the other properties in Centara’s Vietnamese portfolio. Mr. Chris Bailey, Vice President of Sales and Marketing, commented that “the new resort is a highly desirable acquisition for us, as it has a different style and product focus than our other properties in the region, and so we can expand our appeal to a wider cross-section of the market.”

Centara Beach Resort&Spa Phu Quoc is located on the main coast of Phu Quoc Island, in Vietnam’s Kien Giang Province, and is just ten-minute drive away from Phu Quoc International Airport, which is frequently serviced from Ho Chi Minh Airport and Noi Bai Airport in Hanoi.

The resort will have 143 rooms in total, and guests will have access to the full range of facilities expected by modern resort guests, including technology-serviced meeting facilities, an all-day restaurant, a swimming pool complete with pool bar, a fitness center and full wireless connectivity throughout the property. The resort will also contain “Kid’s Club” facilities, and will contain a new Spa Cenvaree, a branch of Centara’s award-winning luxury spa providers.

Vietnam’s largest island, Phu Quoc Island is itself reason enough to visit this latest Centara venture; as an exceptionally peaceful island getaway, floating tranquilly in the Gulf of Thailand, it is still just 50 kilometers away from the Vietnamese mainland and a short 50-minute flight from Ho Chi Minh City.

Most of the island is given over to a National Park, with a largely undeveloped interior, so while Phu Quoc is becoming known for its clear waters and crystalline white sands, it still retains an untouched air, and is a natural destination for those seeking exceptional scuba-diving and snorkeling, as well as for anyone who enjoys a laid-back atmosphere with friendly, approachable locals.

Mr. Thirayuth Chirathivat, the CEO of Centara Hotels&Resorts, said that he is “proud to be overseeing the ongoing expansion of the Centara brand, and that he expects great things of tourism in Vietnam in the years to come.”

Centara Beach Resort&Spa Phu Quoc is currently on schedule to be opened during 2015’s third quarter, and is expected to quickly become a valued addition to the island’s growing tourist sector.

Centara Hotels&Resorts is Thailand’s leading operator of hotels, with 49 deluxe and first-class properties covering all the major tourist destinations in the Kingdom. A further 28 hotels and resorts in Maldives, Mauritius, Vietnam, Bali, Sri Lanka, Ethiopia, Qatar, Laos, Oman, Turkey and China brings the present total to 77 properties. Brands and properties within Centara ensure that specific categories such as couples, families, individuals, and meetings and incentives groups will all find a hotel or resort that is appropriate to their needs. Centara operates 30 branches of Spa Cenvaree, one of Thailand’s most luxurious and innovative spa brands, together with 7 branches of the value brand Cense by Spa Cenvaree, which provides core spa services for busy travelers. The company’s Kids’ Club is available at all the family-friendly resorts to ensure that the youngsters and teens have their own leisure zone. Centara also operates three state-of-the-art convention centers in Bangkok, and two in northeastern Thailand, one being located in Udon Thani and the other in Khon Kaen. The latest Centara brand is named COSI Hotels, an affordable lifestyle brand designed for travelers who predominantly make their bookings via the Internet and who want comfort and convenience at affordable prices; the brand is under development with the first property due to open in 2016.
