South Africa Tourism Minister Derek Hanekom welcomes Seychelles Tourism Minister Alain St.Ange to Tourism House in Pretoria

South Africa Tourism Minister Derek Hanekom welcomes Seychelles Tourism Minister Alain St.Ange to Tourism House in Pretoria (Forimmediaterelease.net) Derek Hanekom, the new Minister of Tourism of South Africa, on Monday of this week welcomed his Seychelles counterpart, Minister Alain St.Ange, to his offices at Tourism House in Pretoria.

The two Ministers had met briefly in London last November when they were both attending the World Travel Market (WTM) Tourism Trade Fair in London. This Pretoria meeting was their first-sit down formal meeting since the nomination of Minister Hanekom following the 2014 General Elections of South Africa last year.

South Africa and Seychelles tourism have already signed an MOU, and this meeting was the opportunity for the two ministers to discuss matters of mutual interest. Following the meeting, it is expected a consolidation of the relations between the two countries will be seen in the field of tourism and cultural exchanges.

“I appreciated the meeting where Minister Hanekom and myself both tabled matters for discussion. We both agreed to continue to develop the spirit of cooperation that exists between our two ministries. It is expected that South Africa will be flying its flag high at the coming April 24 Carnival of Carnivals in Seychelles," said Minister St.Ange.

Minister Alain St.Ange was accompanied to his Pretoria meeting by Anne Lafortune, his PS for Tourism, and Jenifer Sinon, the Seychelles Tourism Board's Director of Administration and Human Resources. Minister Alain St.Ange presented Minister Hanekom with the latest book pushed through the Tourism Board of Seychelles, “Seychelles Unexpected Treasures," as the Minister and Mrs. Hanekom are keen on snorkeling holidays.
