Frankfurt Airport opens new chapel in transit area
Places of meditation and worship for Jewish and Muslim travelers are also offered at FRA’s Terminal 1 and 2. The idea of a new interdenominational Christian chapel was initiated by Fraport AG (the owner and manager of Frankfurt Airport), so that transfer passengers would have more space for retreat in Terminal 1’s remodeled transit area.
For many years, Fraport and the Christian Social Services have been cooperating closely to provide assistance to passengers and employees and to meet social services requirements. At a global aviation hub like FRA, prayer rooms for different faiths provide space for religious diversity, thus contributing to dialog and peaceful coexistence among the world’s religions.
