2008 Travel & Tourism Economic research Launch at ITB ( The World Travel&Tourism Council (WTTC), along with its strategic partner Accenture and research partner Oxford Economics will launch its annual Tourism Satellite Accounting (TSA) research for 176 countries, 13 regions and the world at ITB in Berlin on 6th March.This exclusive launch will reveal the global industry trends for 2008 and the next ten years as the Travel&Tourism community comes together for the world's leading travel trade show taking place in Berlin.Event details

Berlin, GermanyMore than visitor arrivals and receipts, WTTC macroeconomic research, based on the UN standard for Satellite Accounting, measures the impact of Travel&Tourism on demand, capital investment, exports, GDP and jobs to create a global standpoint.The two hour press event will gather Ministers of Tourism from around the globe, top executives as well as the media.WTTC President Jean Claude Baumgarten will summarize and present the major findings of the in-depth research, highlighting the global trends as well as providing insight on the top performers and how other countries can achieve similar success. Specific attention will be based on emerging markets, as this year's research shows impressive findings for regions such as Asia, Middle East and Latin America. Oxford Economics Chairman John Walker will develop the macroeconomic findings of the research and will provide an overview of the global economic situation in order to demonstrate the impact on the global Travel&Tourism industry.
