ASTA Enhances its Consumer Travel Web Site

ASTA Enhances its Consumer Travel Web Site (Forimmediaterelease.net) ASTA has enhanced its consumer travel Web site, TravelSense.org, with several new features. The new site offers guests a more thorough experience and allows them to search for travel tips and destination articles, purchase travel books and guides and provide feedback to the Society with greater ease.

“The features and resources added to TravelSense.org were made with the traveling public in mind," said Cheryl Hudak, CTC, ASTA president and CEO. “When tourists are well-informed they travel with greater confidence and typically more often. ASTA will continue to provide travelers with the information they are looking for so they can take the vacations they deserve."

TravelSense.org now has an improved visual format and some of the other improvements include:

Increased interaction
• An “Ask a Question" feature has been added. Site visitors can provide comments to the “ASTA Asks" section, which rotates questions about travel.
• The “Travel Tip Submission" tool allows visitors to submit their favorite travel tip so other travelers can read them; tips are randomly rotated on the site.
• On a scale of one through five, visitors can rate the destination articles on TravelSense and post comments on the article for all readers to view.
Greater mobility

• New programming makes it easier for travelers to surf TravelSense.org from their cell phones.
Better shopping
• The online store was rebuilt for improved functionality.

• There is now a “We Just Sold" feature which announces the most-sold travel book on Amazon.com.
• Visitors can use the “Browse by Category" tool to speed up the selection and shopping process, in addition to shopping and adding additional books to their cart without leaving the site.
ASTA, the world's largest association of travel professionals, encourages all travelers planning a vacation to visit its consumer Web site to find travel tips and advisories, up-to-date passport information and travel agents' contact information.
