2008 ITE MICE & ITE - The 22nd International Travel Expo Hong Kong
Fully hosted buyer package includes round trip air tickets and two nights of hotel stay in Hong Kong. Package for semi-hosted buyer is largely similar but without air ticket. However, TKS will assist semi-hosted buyers to purchase AD75 tickets, subjects to availability, from our Official Airlines, Cathay and Dragonair,
Buyers from mainland China, particularly for those from Guangdong, will have a choice of transport - air, intercity trains and coaches. Our Official Rail, the Guangzhou-Kowloon Through Train, which provides intercity train services between Hong Kong and some major cities in mainland China, also sponsors our Hosted Buyer Program.
Other benefits for our hosted buyers include airport transfer, free admission, complimentary drink coupons, free invitation or priority attendance to official functions including pre-show tours, which organized by the Hong Kong Tourism Board will cover Hong Kong, Macau and Guangdong.
Hosted buyers are required to attend networking sessions where buyers will meet sellers, and complete a certain number of individual appointments with exhibitors whose opinions will be sought when selecting fully hosted buyers next year. We also welcome travel trade to pre-register, online or by fax, as our trade visitors and offer free admission and catalogue.
Including members of delegation by trade associations in Asia, 674 hosted buyers attended the last ITE&ITE MICE, with 59% from different parts of Asia, 34% from mainland China and 7% from long haul. In all, the last Travel Expo drew 11600 trade and corporate visitors, with 20% from mainland China, 16% from Asia and abroad and the rest from Hong Kong. Occupying 15000 square meters, the last Expo drew 650 exhibitors from over 50 countries and regions; over 40 official pavilions with over 50% of them from Americas, Europe, Africa and Middle East.
The 22nd edition of ITE will be held from June 12 to 15 this year at halls 1A, B&C and hall 2A of the Hong Kong Convention&Exhibition Center (HKCEC), and the 3rd edition of ITE MICE from June 12 to 14 at hall 2B of HKCEC.
Again, the Travel Expo looks set for a bigger scale this year, as exhibitors’ space booking as at the end of last month was 50% higher than that at same period last year. In fact, the Travel Expo has already doubled the scale in the past three years.
There are some alternations on the overall layout of the exhibition to facilitate visitors. Short haul exhibitors and the grand stage for ceremonies and performances will be located in halls 1, while onsite seminar rooms, exhibitors of long haul, MICE&business travels, and Special Travel Themes Zone will be in halls 2. While the Hong Kong pavilion organized by Hong Kong Tourism Board will remain in halls 1, there will also be a Hong Kong Travel Agents Zone in halls 2.
