Ars et Natura alle Seychelles: Art exhibition dedicated to Seychelles in Rome

Ars et Natura alle Seychelles: Art exhibition dedicated to Seychelles in Rome ( The association Ars et Natura, in close collaboration with the Seychelles Tourism Board Rome Office in Italy, is promoting an artistic-scientific project to promote and preserve the precious natural environment of Seychelles.

Ars et Natura is a group of Italian wildlife artists that have experienced firsthand during several trips, the beauty of Seychelles and discovered a way to combine the unique nature of the archipelago with their passion for arts, and from this, the project Ars et Natura alle Seychelles was born. The group meets as collaborators of the World Wildlife Foundation and travels the world on different art projects. As naturalists and wildlife enthusiasts, their main aim is to educate and promote the necessity of preserving nature. Through their paintings, photography, and travel sketchbooks, they have marketed the incredible biodiversity of the Seychelles islands, and they are showcasing it to the world.

Monette Rose, Regional Manager of the Seychelles Tourism Board in Italy, immediately remarked that this project is unique on many levels: it not only showcases the beauty of the islands but also other rare qualities that people may not know about when reading a holiday brochure. It highlights visually the unique selling points of the archipelago, the flora and the fauna, and is a new way of learning about Seychelles.

The project, that received the patronage of UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization), WWF (World Wildlife Fund), and Birdlife International, has already had an extraordinary amount of media coverage and a lot of visibility in the past two years through different exhibitions and events in Italy, England, and France.

From January 7-11, 2015, an art exhibition entirely dedicated to Seychelles has been organized in Rome, in the elegant historic city center, by the Seychelles Tourism Board Rome Office in Italy in collaboration with the group of artists and Mr. Alessandro Troisi, artist and leader of the project. Around a hundred works have been showcased, and the guest of honor of the event was Mr. George Camille, one of the best known Creole artists.

The exhibition was inaugurated on January 7, 2015, in the presence of media and trade partners, with a special Creole buffet and Takamaka Rhum degustation. A press conference was held to present the project and the Seychelles, and also to promote Creole art, thanks to Mr. George Camille, who attended the event and brought along some of his paintings and some works of Mr. Allen Ernesta and Camille Mondon for display. The numerous guests, immersed in the scent of Seychelles’ lemon grass essence, were very enthusiastic about the exhibition and explored the forests, beaches, and endemic species of Seychelles through the eyes and emotions of the artists.

The exhibition has been open to the public for 5 days, and many new projects are about to come in Europe and Seychelles to promote the beauty of Seychelles and help people realize how interesting and precious its biodiversity is.
