New Resources Now Available for ASTA Members on ASTA.org

New Resources Now Available for ASTA Members on ASTA.org (Forimmediaterelease.net) ASTA recently announced the addition of new online resources for its members on ASTA.org. Members will now find an enhanced WebExchange, international learning community, updated cruise-related resources and information and white papers on employee productivity and evaluations.
“These resources were created with our members in mind," said Cheryl Hudak, CTC, ASTA president and CEO. “We are dedicated to continually improving, updating and adding new resources and features to ASTA.org that will educate our members, allow them to remain competitive and retain their status as travel experts."
ASTA's Web Exchange is an online business-to-business tool that connects travel agents and suppliers. Any ASTA member can use this tool to exchange information about business opportunities, post special requests and find specific industry information instantly and conveniently. In addition to an enhanced visual format, members can now:
• Add HTML messages
• Manage and edit postings
• View a posting company's member details
• Save postings as a PDF to share with peers and clients
• Use the how-to guide to get started
ASTA represents members in 140 countries and has developed the international learning community to help its international members establish contacts and exchange ideas and information with other members across the world. Current posts address topics such as the agenda for IDE's Global Networking day, cruising, golf excursions and Nazareth as a vacation destination. Although ASTA.org is published in English, members are encouraged to post messages in their preferred language, provided an English translation is also posted.

Cruising is an increasingly popular choice for travelers and to help its members stay connected, ASTA has compiled cruise information and posted links to current cruise reviews; pricing and cruising trends for 2008; an “orderbook" of new cruise ships along with their estimated delivery dates; in addition to an updated online cruise line directory. This information will allow agents and suppliers to keep track of events and changes in the cruise industry.
To help members improve the productivity of regular performance reviews, ASTA published a how-to guide to conducting constructive evaluations. Employers will learn vital strategies and can use the tips provided to improve both individual performance and overall production for the company. These and other human resources information can be found on ASTA's E-Library.

The mission of the American Society of Travel Agents (ASTA) is to facilitate the business of selling travel through effective representation, shared knowledge and the enhancement of professionalism. ASTA seeks a retail travel marketplace that is profitable and growing and a rewarding field in which to work, invest and do business.
