Youngest Reunion Island Tourism Honorary Ambassador vying for title of world champion in Kyokushin Karate

Youngest Reunion Island Tourism Honorary Ambassador vying for title of world champion in Kyokushin Karate ( The youngest Honorary Ambassador of Reunion Island Tourism (IRT) and Kyokushin Karate European Champion, Louis André Goulay, is in full mental and physical preparation. On March 21, 2015, he will face the world's best fighters on the tatami in Thessaloniki, Greece, which hosts the World Junior Championship Kyokushin Karate. The ultimate goal of the Tiger Péi is the title of world champion in Kyokushin Karate.

A European champion in 2014 in kata and fighting, Louis André Goulay is now targeting the world title, when he will try to win the FIFA Junior World Kyokushin Karate title. The young karateka has been preparing for nearly four months, training up to thirty hours a week.

For Louis André Goulay, this challenge is daunting, and the training is intensive, but with 100% of preparation in place in terms of infrastructure and physical and technical assistants, the reigning European champion has every chance to win a medal for France on Greek soil.

“I'm ready for anything!" said Louis André Goulay.

Nearly 28 different nationalities are expected to attend the World Kyokushin Karate competition, but this does not concern the 11-year-old Reunion competitor in any way. He owes his confidence to his entourage – his family - who accompanies and supports him every day as an athlete and a young man.

“My ultimate challenge and after is … done!" said Louis André Goulay.

For Louis André Goulay, this world Kyokushin Karate competition is perhaps his last. The champion, who dreams of integrating the Intervention Group of the National Gendarmerie (GIGN) to be at the service of his country, would like to try other sports in very eclectic areas, such as the 100 meter run, rugby, and close combat, to name a few. Until then, the young Reunion islander should be adding one more medal in Kyokushin Karate to his already rich collection of awards.
