Reunion Island: A French-speaking Switzerland strike

Reunion Island: A French-speaking Switzerland strike ( As part of the action plan developed with Swiss tour operator, the Key Islands, Reunion Island Tourism (IRT) participated in an evening that was, to say the least, unusual. With a bowling alley as the place to rendezvous, twenty guests were invited to this travel agencies party to bowl and have fun while learning more about the tourism product of Reunion Island.

On Thursday, November 27, 2014, Anne-Laure Payet, responsible for promoting Reunion Island Tourism, went to Lausanne to attend the bowling-themed party organized by Swiss tour operator, the Key Islands.

Twenty French-speaking Switzerland agencies responded to the invitation by the tour operator. On site, they were able to meet and talk with representatives of hotel establishments Palm Hotel&Spa, Iloha Seaview Hotel, and Saint Alexis Hotel&Spa. The opportunity was also given to travel agents to start with sales tools from Reunion Island through a presentation of the destination.

Through this friendly evening, the IRT had several objectives:

• develop a close relationship with agencies and encourage them to sell the island;
• publicize hotel products of Reunion Island; and
• document the travel agencies on the destination.

In addition to the working sessions, professionals were able to indulge in bowling with two very active parts, followed by dinner and a raffle, which rewarded the Swiss travel agents. This promotion action is a real strike for Reunion Island that never ceases to stand on its priority markets.
