Famous journalist photographer becomes Honorary Ambassador for Reunion Island ( The Autofocus Ravine white project succeeded in bringing to Reunion Island one of the greatest journalist photographers, Reza Deghati. The Autofocus project was initiated two years ago by the city of Saint Pierre, the USOC, the Anru, the SIDR, the SHLMR, and the Semader as well as the inhabitants of the white Ravine. These are at the heart of the project. It comes to make a self-portrait of the district by its inhabitants in order to reclaim and revitalize their neighborhoods being rebuilt through intergenerational initiation of photography with the intervention of professionals.

Since the beginning of the week, the Franco photographer known for such books as crossed destinies recognized around the world for his fabulous portraits regularly published in National Geographic, shares his know-how with the inhabitants of the neighborhood during workshops. Yesterday, a dozen people went to the Tamil temple of Ravine white to produce a series of portraits.

On Thursday, October 30, at 7:30 pm the Lucet Langenier theatre in Saint-Pierre was entirely dedicated to the photographer for an evening conference-debate. The program consisted of a presentation of the Autofocus project on Ravine white, followed by a conference debate. REZA was then named an Honorary Ambassador of Reunion Island, and evening closed with performances of Zanbrokal Musikal with Frédéric Joron, Kartier choir and Kozman ti Dalon, and evening cocktails.
