Times of Africa catches up with Seychelles Minister in Delhi ( Times of Africa, the respected magazine and TV station of India, caught up with Minister Alain St.Ange, the Seychelles Minister responsible for Tourism and Culture, in between his series of meetings in Delhi.

For a TV report on the Seychelles delegation's working visit to India, the Times of Africa wanted to know from the Minister how much growth was expected for the Seychelles tourism sector from Indian yourists. Minister St.Ange explained the prevailing situation due to issues of direct air access resulted in the numbers of Indian tourists being low but said that this is set to improve considerably in the coming months and years because of the announcement by Air Seychelles of its intention to launch a non-stop direct service between Seychelles and India
When he was asked what his future plans were for boosting up the tourism sector of Seychelles worldwide, the Minister elaborated on the recommendations that came out of the island's mid-year tourism marketing meeting organized by the Tourism Board. Minister St.Ange said that Seychelles would continue to employ the strategy of diversifying its tourism markets abroad while maintaining and strengthening the island's core markets of Europe. The Minister said that Seychelles would continue to boost its use of culture to provide touch points for inbound visitors to enjoy the rich and authentic experience of Seychelles “beneath the skin.” Minister Alain St.Ange said that Seychelles will continue to work on maximizing airlift to the islands from all points of the compass as the islands will continue to improve their visibility via their suite of international events and by use of tactical marketing campaigns.

The Seychelles Minister said that currently the islands have made its place in the heart of everyone through the Seychelles international carnival when he was asked what his ministry was doing to ensure the continuous flow of tourists and their safety in the island. Minister St.Ange said that Seychelles would continue to enhance and add value to the Seychelles holiday experience for inbound tourists through the diversity of its tourism products, and will capitalize on the great variety that the islands offer and the safety and harmony that the islands’ lifestyle provides which is quite unique in the world.

The Times of Africa asked the Seychelles Minister to explain what efforts were being made by Seychelles to provide a relaxing and cozy environment to tourists. Minister St.Ange said that the Seychelles environment is one of the most pristine and welcoming environments in the world. He said that the Seychelles environment remained one in which the traveler will instantly feel at home on account of the serenity and peacefulness of their way of life. The Minister explained that this extends from the welcoming environment of the island's great choice of accommodation options to the great selection of activities on offer… all conducted with an unforgettable, welcoming smile.
