Charitable body joins Seychelles’ reigning beauty queen with obesity project (Forimmediaterelease.net) The Rotary Club Victoria-Coco de Mer has volunteered to help the Seychelles reigning beauty queen, Camilla Estico, with her project to work closely with young children to combat obesity.

In taking this step, Rotary Club Victoria-Coco de Mer becomes among the first in the community to come forward and help “Miss Seychelles… Another World” 2014 with her project – which will also give added baggage when competing with the other girls in the Miss World pageant later this year.

It is also the first time the Seychelles Tourism Board includes this component in the choosing of “Miss Seychelles… Another World.”

The club explained that fighting against obesity is a theme in line with the actions their club could undertake.

Miss Estico met members of the organization last Thursday at Maison du Football Roche Caiman whereby she presented her project.

During the meeting, she shared the reasons and objectives of her project which is entitled, “Curbing the Rise of Obesity in Seychelles.”

In her presentation, Miss Estico also talked about the activities she will be organizing and the ways she will be addressing the problem.

Members of the Rotary Club Victoria-Coco de Mer congratulated her for such a brilliant idea and pledged their support towards her project. They also proposed a few ideas to Miss Estico on how she can better her project and spoke on how the club will be helping her.

Accompanying the reigning beauty queen to the meeting were the Tourism Board’s Deputy Chief Executive Nathalie Didon.

The Tourism Board’s Chief Executive Sherin Naiken said she is pleased to learn that Rotary Club Victoria-Coco de Mer has given openly their support towards Miss Estico’s project.

Miss Naiken also expressed words of appreciation and thanks towards the members of the organization for giving a helping hand to the reigning beauty queen.

“Miss Estico’s project on obesity is one of national importance and concern. I would, therefore, call on other partners to come forward in helping our ‘Miss Seychelles… Another World’ 2014 with her project,” Miss Naiken said.
