Rallye Mascarun: the adventure continues on Reunion Island

Rallye Mascarun: the adventure continues on Reunion Island ( The five teams of the ongoing Rallye Mascarun continued their journey to discover Reunion Island. A varied program of sights, sounds, and scents awaited the participating travel agents as they crisscrossed Reunion Island!

Those who wondered what Reunion looked like from the skies above, like the Curtain teams and Paille-en-Queue, were able to experience this on Tuesday, May 26, with a helicopter flight! The program included flying above the majestic Mafate and its isolated islets, the circus Salazie`s lush and spectacular waterfall, the steep rock faces, and last but not least swooping across the lagoon`s shimmering turquoise waters below them.

Chouchou and Vacoas teams, respectively, after a stop at the Tourist Office of Saint-André and tourist office Manapany, discovered the lunar landscapes of ancient lava flows in the wild south of the island and had the opportunity to enjoy the spectacular sights of steep basalt cliffs, deep green lush vegetation, and the blue of the Indian Ocean!

The Paille-en-Queue management team went to the site where the island`s water sources are captured to maintain their purity.

After visiting the tourist office at Cilaos, the team also visited the village of Islet String.

Participants were then able to recharge their batteries during a hosted lunch where traditional dishes with mestizo flavors were served, the best of Reunion`s ethnic cuisine.

The challengers then spent the afternoon exploring yet more of the island and continued meetings with their hosts as well as the people of Reunion Island.

Then it was time for another night before the teams hit the road again on Wednesday, May 28, for more of the adventures of Rallye Mascarun!
