New nonstop services to Lublin and Karlstad to be launched from FRA – Lufthansa resumes FRA-Montreal route
Starting July, Lufthansa will be flying to Lublin in eastern Poland every Thursday and Sunday. Operated by an Airbus A319 aircraft with a 139-seat configuration, the flight will cover the distance between Frankfurt and Lublin of almost 1,120 kilometers (or 700 miles) in approximately two hours. Flight times have been adapted to Lufthansa`s domestic and international flight schedule to allow passengers easy connections from FRA.
From May, British carrier bmi regional will be flying six times a week from Frankfurt to the Swedish town of Karlstad. A 49-seat Embraer 145 aircraft will depart Karlstad at 1600 from Sunday to Friday and will return from FRA at 1830. The flight time from Frankfurt to Karlstad is 2 hours.
Winfried Hartmann, head of the Sales&Customer Relations department of Fraport, the owner and operator of FRA, said, “The two new services contribute to enhance the European route network, since, until now, there were no direct air links between Germany and Lublin or Karlstad.”
Three intercontinental destinations were already added to FRA`s route network at the start of the summer schedule. From late May, Lufthansa will be adding a five-times-weekly direct service to the Indonesian capital Jakarta (CGK). In addition to other new European destinations, the German flag carrier will also be flying from FRA to Valencia (VLC) in Spain and to Montpellier–Mediterranee Airport (MPL) in France.
