Seychelles Carnaval International de Victoria closes with standing ovation

Seychelles Carnaval International de Victoria closes with standing ovation (Forimmediaterelease.net) The curtain has fallen on the fourth edition of the Seychelles Carnaval International de Victoria, and the Seychellois people rallied in numbers to proudly claim that they are the custodians of this “carnival of carnivals.”

Beyond the celebrations of a rich melting pot of cultures, the closing ceremony was an opportunity to salute local and foreign delegations who had paraded and danced so joyfully in the three-day event.

Alain St.Ange, Minister for Tourism and Culture, and the Sherin Naiken, the CEO of the Seychelles Tourism Board, proclaimed that the event delivered all of its promises.

Minister St.Ange said the fifth edition of Carnaval International de Victoria has to strike a different tone from its previous four editions to keep the event even more visible.

Minister St.Ange announced that a South African radio station will be dedicating a special program on the Carnival, setting the momentum for the 2015 edition, whereas Lesotho and Mongolia have already confirmed their participation in the fifth edition.

Minister St.Ange said feedback on this year`s carnival from the international press who interviewed him was positive.

“The international press, such as BBC, CNN, and different French journalists, hailed the success of this edition. It is important for Seychelles that these comments are echoed from our international press. If they`ve claimed it`s a success, then I am pretty sure we`ve made it again this year to give Seychelles the best carnival ever. I would like to congratulate all Seychellois who came down in numbers to support this carnival. It shows that we`ve taken ownership of the carnival,” Minister St.Ange said.

Minister St.Ange said the fourth edition of Carnaval International de Victoria ended on a note of optimism and set the foundation for 2015`s fifth edition of Carnival International de Victoria.
