Fraport Worldwide: Lima honored with the Skytrax “Best Airport in South America” award for the sixth consecutive year
Fraport executive board chairman Dr. Stefan Schulte praised the special honor bestowed on the company`s subsidiary: “I congratulate our partner in Lima on receiving this outstanding award once again. This rating as the Best Airport in South America shows just how successful our airports are around the world and underscores Fraport`s very high level of expertise in the global airport industry.”
Accepting the Skytrax award in Barcelona (Spain) recently, Juan Jose Salmon, CEO of Lima Airport Partners, said: “We are very proud of this international achievement, which spurs us on to continue delivering world-class service to our passengers at Jorge Chavez International Airport.”
Lima Airport`s employees were also honored for their service excellence by receiving the Best Airport Staff in South America 2014 award – for the fourth time. With dynamic double-digit passenger growth, LAP has developed Peru`s Jorge Chavez International Airport into a leading hub for air traffic in Central and South America. In 2013, LIM served 14.9 million passengers, an increase of 11.9 percent year-on-year. LAP commenced its 30-year concession to operate, manage and develop Lima Airport in February 2001.
Skytrax surveys some 12 million passengers every year in more than 160 nations about the service quality at about 400 airports worldwide. The data from these surveys determine the winners of the annual Skytrax World Airport Awards, which are presented in various categories and which serve as an important benchmark for service quality ratings of leading aviation gateways.
