The essence of Reunion Island Tourism`s quality label

The essence of Reunion Island Tourism`s quality label (Forimmediaterelease.net) Quality is an important issue in the development of the tourism industry, and Reunion Island Tourism (IRT) is focused on the development of a label for local tourism providers in the areas of accommodation, catering, sports, culture, and transport. In February 2014, twenty providers have been awarded the Quality Tourism Reunion Island (QTIR) label.

Through this label QTIR, Reunion Island Tourism intends to deal with increased international competition. Registered at the heart of strategic areas for tourism development established by the IRT, quality approach aims to reinforce the image of its tourism offering and increase visits to the destination through the promotion of institutions in different segments of the tourism industry and its activities. This quality is based on several key criteria:

• improve the quality of tourism services;
• ensure quality service to consumers;
• distinguish Reunion Island from competing destinations; and
• strengthen the quality image of Reunion Island for reception, service, and professionalism.

Developed in 1996, the initial quality label - Reunion Quality Tourism (RQT) - gave way to the new brand of Qualite Tourisme La Reunion (QTIR) in 2013. Today, nearly 113 members carry this brand after being carefully monitored and audited before being accepted. These professional members are subject to regular evaluations (unannounced, anonymous inspections) and have signed on to a quality charter. On February 26, 2014, 20 new members joined the label QTIR, including 14 new schools and 6 previous members who had their status reassessed. This Wednesday, March 26, 2014 at the Hotel Bellepierre, the new QIRT members received diplomas attesting to the quality of their services from the Vice President of the IRT Mr. Patrick Serveaux.
